Spot a Business! Post

Know a business that could improve urban community quality of life?

Innovative and promising businesses are everywhere—and sometimes the people who encounter them are the first to recognize their potential.

Spot a Business! gives you a simple way to tell UEI about a business you think we should know about. It might be a startup, an established company, or anything in between. It can be located anywhere, as long as you see potential for its products, services, or approach to improve urban community quality of life.

Tell us what the business does and why you think it matters. You don’t need to be affiliated with the business, and you don’t need to be a UEI member to participate.

What the business does

is Southeast Asia’s biggest proptech platform. It basically moved the entire chaotic real estate market online. Founded in Singapore back in 2007, it completely changed how people buy, sell, and rent homes in crowded cities. It gives city dwellers instant transparency on housing prices, floor plans, and localized neighborhood data, completely replacing old-school classified ads

How this business could improve urban community quality of life

Instead of wasting days calling sketchy phone numbers in newspapers, urbanites get instant transparency on price trends, floor plans, and localized neighborhood data before even stepping foot in a unit. They also rolled out a massive features push called "Everyone Welcome," allowing landlords to explicitly tag their listings as open to any renter regardless of race, gender, or religion. It’s a huge win for social inclusion in diverse cities
